Dr. Glen Martin, Senior pastor
Pastor Glen has been senior pastor of Journey of Faith since 1991. He has written twelve books for pastors and leaders and several have been translated into Indonesian, Chinese and Korean. He has served as a speaker and seminar leader for Promise Keepers, INJOY and Man in the Mirror, and taught at numerous seminaries across the U.S. and around the world. Glen’s postgraduate education includes a Master’s Degree in Christian Education and a Doctor of Ministry from Talbot School of Theology and a Master of Theology degree from Western Seminary.
His passion is to teach the Scriptures, equip the church to reach the lost, and mobilize it to achieve its full potential. Glen stays energized with reading, visiting historical sites and taking long walks with his wife, Nancy. They are blessed with three grown children and four grandchildren.

Bill Ingram, Chief of Staff/pastor of outreach Ministry
Bill joined the staff of Journey of Faith in 2007 where he serves as Chief of Staff and Pastor of Outreach Ministries. He has degrees from Southern California College (Vanguard University) and Hope International University where he earned his Masters in 2009. He is married to Denise and has four children (Amber, Tyler, Drew and Issac). In addition to Bill’s drive to see people become missional with their lives, he is passionate about helping singles connect to God and develop healthy relationships with one another. Besides reading and playing with their children, Bill and his wife love to golf and one item on his “Bucket List” is to golf in all fifty states and every continent.

Dr. Jason Cusick, pastor of adult discipleship
Jason joined the Journey of Faith staff in 2004. He has a Master’s degree in Christian Ministry and Leadership and a Doctor of Ministry from Talbot School of Theology. Coming from his ministry in hospital chaplaincy, Jason served Journey as Pastor of Care Ministries before taking over the Adult Ministries program. He has overseen Journey’s Premarital Mentoring Program and the Journey Leadership Institute as well as bringing Grief share, Care Groups and Stephen Ministry to the church. He has a passion for helping individuals and couples work through their challenges to find God’s best for their lives.
Jason has been married to his college sweetheart Marie for over 15 years and they have three children. He is a published author and when he is not teaching, writing and caring for others he loves sharing his opinions about the latest movies and pop culture news.

greg piken, pastor of Young Adults and Local Outreach
Greg is passionate about helping others discover who they are in Christ. He prays to see the church step out in faith to lead revolutionary lives for God in their careers and schools, among the poor, and around the world. Greg joined the Journey of Faith staff in December 2004, after recording and releasing three independent albums as a singer and songwriter. He earned his Master’s in Biblical & Theological Studies from Talbot School of Theology at Biola University and his Bachelor’s in English & Comparative Literature from UC Irvine. His current ministry oversees the ever-growing groups for college, young adults, and singles as he fulfills the call of God upon his life.

Mark Portis, pastor of Worship Arts
Mark is the Pastor of Worship Arts at Journey of Faith. He has the calling and desire to help God’s people passionately and authentically offer their worship to God both corporately and personally. Mark graduated from Cal State Fullerton in 1989 with a Bachelor’s in Music. Before coming to Journey in February 2005, he served at Rolling Hills Covenant Church (1990-1993) as a worship leader followed by eleven years at Lake Avenue Church as a Pastor of Worship. Mark is married to his wife, Linda, and has three sons (Kevin, John and Michael). Mark has been an adjunct faculty advisor at Azusa Pacific University and is a sought after worship leader for conference centers such as Mount Hermon and Forest Home. In his spare time, Mark enjoys bike riding, tennis, watching good movies, writing and arranging music and spending time with his family.

Michelle Browne, Student MinistrIES PASTOR
At age eleven, God called Michelle to work with teenagers while attending Slippery Rock Baptist Camp in Pennsylvania. Michelle pursued the dream and calling, graduating with a Bachelor degree in Religious Education from Davis College in New York. After graduation, Michelle and her husband Jerry served as teachers in Ohio. Michelle and Jerry will celebrate 15 years of marriage this year. She is truly honored to serve the amazing students and families of Journey of Faith. Michelle joined the staff in June 2005. Before teaching, Michelle served as a youth volunteer and has been working with teenagers for the past 18 years. Michelle is currently working on a Masters of Strategic Leadership degree from Life Pacific College.

Matt Johnston, pastor of Student Ministry (High School)
Matt has been on staff at Journey since 2010. Born and raised in Southern California, Matt earned a degree in Christian Education from Biola University and married in 2007 to Caroline. Matt has served in youth ministry since 2003 and has enjoyed fruitful ministry as a High School Pastor here at Journey. In Matt’s spare time, he and Caroline enjoy reading, traveling, exploring the South Bay, and being devoted Dodger fans.

Nathan Carpenter, Associate pastor of worship arts
Nate has been on staff at Journey of Faith since 2008. As he finished up his degree in Communications from Vanguard University, he came to Journey of Faith and served as the Student Ministries Worship Director for a year. He then joined the pastoral staff as Associate Pastor of Worship in 2009. Nate has been leading worship around Southern California since 2002 and was given the opportunity to hone his talents through an extensive internship at Covina Assembly church.
Through this ministry experience he was given opportunities to lead worship for various student camps and conventions locally. Nate’s current responsibilities at Journey of Faith include leading and organizing worship teams for the Sunday 6pm service and the worship needs for the Student Ministries department. Nate desires to see a generation of worshipers rise up and praise in spirit and truth, living a life in response to the amazing love of our God.

JILL LEWOLT, Director of Children's Ministries
Jill began working at Journey of Faith in 2011. As a pastor's daughter, she has been actively serving the Lord through Children's Ministry for over half of her life. She relocated to Southern California from Bixby, Oklahoma in 2008 to attend seminary. Jill graduated from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary with a Masters degree in Educational Leadership and received the Outstanding Service in Ministry Award. She has also been a partner of David C Cook ministries as a national representative of their Family Ministry Philosophy.
She has a strong desire to minister to families and empower parents to be the primary nurturer of their child's faith. Her favorite thing about children's ministry is seeing faith develop in the life of a young child as the reality of God's great love transforms their heart. She loves to meet new people and hear stories about their lives. Jill married her husband Brian in 2011 and is slowly becoming someone who likes cooking. Jill is an avid reader who loves to play games, go on dates with her husband, and laugh with friends.

Harry Mcfarlin, pastor Emeritus
After being the pastor to older adults for seven years and Assistant Pastor part time, Harry continues to minister to older adults through teaching, traveling and advising. After graduating from Western Conservative Baptist Seminary in Portland, Oregon, Harry pastored two churches for a total of 18 years before coming to Journey in 1996. The struggle in God’s people with change, helping people handle individual and generational changes in life, has been a critical area of ministry to him. Harry is married to Donna and has four children and eight grandchildren.
Joseph Fiktarz, Bellflower Campus Pastor
As a Christian, one of Joseph's greatest joys is bringing a message of hope to any person, at any time, in any situation through the truth contained in Scripture. Joseph joined the Journey of Faith staff in 2011 and is leading the charge to advance the Kingdom of God on the Journey of Faith Bellflower Campus.
He married his beautiful and musically talented wife, Sheena, in the spring of 2006 and they have one daughter, Sterling. He earned his Master of Arts degree in Theology from Talbot school of Theology and his Bachelors in Animal Science, pre-veterinary medicine from Cal Poly Pomona. Before coming to Journey of Faith, Joseph has served 14 years in various youth, college and associate pastoral roles.
In his spare time, Joseph enjoys photography, rock climbing, soccer and the occasional trip to Costa Rica. It is his prayer that God will continue to help him live a godly life, boldly share the Gospel message of the one and only Good, True and Beautiful God and disciple others to do the same.
