Media Director Jon was born in Dublin, Ireland in August of 1975. He grew up in the dry, hot desert of Sedona, Arizona and finally escaped to San Diego in 1996. God opened up a door at Journey Community Church in La Mesa, where he began volunteering alongside the youth Pastor. Jon's creative mind set to work bringing crazy ideas to life, shooting movies for the students and performing countless dramas as the student ministry began to grow. His father taught him carpentry, a skill that Jon not only uses on a regular basis both building sets and remodelling his new home, but has also landed Jon on national TV shows. Jon has also worked as a certified instructor for both indoor and outdoor rock-climbing, and as a caricature artist at both Legoland and Sea World. It was while working at Sea World that Jon met his beautiful wife, Stephanie. As God continued to present new opportunities, Jon was offered a position at Journey as the Media Director. With a love for movies and his creative mind spinning, he eagerly accepted the position in February of 2000. Journey Productions has since produced numerous large evangelistic pushes utilizing media, such as Marriage Survivor, Raiders of the Lost Spark, CSI: critical spiritual investigations, and The Journey Adventure. One of the most recent and largest productions assembled is Journey to Bethlehem, allowing over five thousand Beach Cities residents to come and experience our recreation of the birthplace of Christ. Jon has trained several teams of volunteers to create and re-enact downtown Bethlehem on the night Jesus was born over two thousand years ago.
