Preteen Ministry

Preteen Ministry | 4th and 5th Grade

Our preteen ministry is more than a Sunday School. Your children will become part of a group of preteens who gather regularly for service projects and fun activities, including Christmas parties and scavenger hunts.

On Sunday morning, your children will meet with other 4th and 5th graders for worship and an opportunity to study a modified version of the message delivered by the pastor that day in the worship service. They will then meet in small groups to discuss the message and to pray about it.

We meet: 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sundays

Dessert & Discipleship | 8 to 11 years old

At Dessert and Discipleship, your youngster will get a yummy and inspirational introduction to biblical principles and teachings. Led by Claire Abernathy, our children’s pastor, this class uses kids’ favorite treats to illustrate each week’s lesson. It is – not surprisingly – one of our most popular classes.

Baptism Class | 8 to 11 years old

We are so excited when our children choose to be baptized. We believe baptism is an important step of obedience for every person who has accepted Christ as his or her Savior. To help youngsters understand this important act of faith and to prepare them for the event, Claire Abernathy, our children’s pastor, offers a one-hour class several times per year. She also asks that a parent attend with the child.
