Mexicali 

Our Mexicali weekend is a perfect opportunity for people who are new to short-term mission projects! During this trip, we will assist the local community with ongoing construction projects, a dental clinic, and VBS and Sports Camps. Mexicali is located just south of the U.S. border below San Diego. 

Dates: November 7-11, 2019
Requirements: Minimum age 7
Estimated Cost: Approximately $450/adults, $400/under age 18

Disaster Relief Teams

Beyond financial giving, we believe that Journey is well-positioned to mobilize volunteers to assist with relief efforts. After first-responders vacate the affected area, the disaster relief team is able to show up and assist with a variety of relief efforts.

Eligibility & Application

Everyone is welcome to apply for a mission trip, even if you aren’t a member of Journey of Faith. Journey of Faith encourages trip participants to consider U.S. State Department travel advisories before applying for a mission trip.

Once you’ve decided to participate in a mission trip, complete the trip’s registration form and pay the $25 administrative fee. This fee does not count towards your total trip cost.

Some trips may also require an interview by the trip leader or additional qualifications for approval.

After approval, you must pass a LiveScan background check. You will receive an email about your LiveScan appointment after you fill out the registration form and pay the $25 trip fee.

Travel Documents & Immunizations

For trips that travel outside of the United States and U.S. territories, you will need a current passport that is valid 6 months beyond the trip return date. Because it can take several months, please prioritize obtaining or renewing your passport, as expedite fees can be costly.

Some trips also require an additional visa application and/or tourist card, which will be explained by your trip leader.

Journey of Faith encourages trip participants to follow vaccination recommendations by the Centers for Disease Control. Medical and logistical costs due to illness during the trip are your personal responsibility.

Finances & Funding

Trip costs include fees, lodging, meals and transportation. Additional spending money and personal supplies are your own responsibility.

Trip participants are expected to cover the trip cost via personal funds and/or donations.

Your trip payments should be made on your trip's Payment Portal you will receive the link for your trip's Payment Portal once you have registered and completed your trip consent form.

All donations can be made through the Short-Term Mission Trip Donation Portal

During trip meetings, your leader will provide you with additional donation collection procedures.

Financial circumstances should not prohibit anyone from going on a mission trip. To be considered for a scholarship, please email .

Preparation & Attendance

To provide the best mission experience to you, our missionary partners and the people you’ll meet, each mission trip team meets multiple times before departure to prepare logistically, culturally, and spiritually. Teams also meet for a homecoming debrief after the trip.

Trip participants are required to attend pre-trip meetings and may have required tasks before the trip departure.
