The news of a virus spreading around the world has given us all pause to stop and consider how best to stay healthy and protect ourselves from an unknown threat. Here at Journey of Faith we are aware of the risks and are working hard to address the issue of the spread of COVID-19 in a responsible way.
Currently we are not planning to cancel any upcoming services or ministry events. We are monitoring the recommendations from the L.A. County Health Department and the CDC. Both agencies are urging caution in typical greeting times and so we will be adjusting how we greet one another during services and recommend everyone consider not shaking hands.
Our team has installed extra hand sanitizing stations throughout the campus and we are working to make sure that surfaces that are commonly touched are cleaned and sanitized on a regular basis.
If you are feeling sick or have concerns about coming to services, please know that as always we will be live streaming our services on Facebook and encourage you to worship along with us from home.
Beyond the practicality of washing your hands and being careful with contact, as Christians we have an opportunity to pray for those who are impacted by this illness. We can also pray for the spread of this virus to be slowed and prevent a wide-scale outbreak. We can pray for wisdom for the leaders of our nation who are facing the challenge of this health crisis. We can pray for the doctors, nurses and other health care providers who are serving on the front lines of this crisis and putting themselves at risk. At Journey of Faith we want to reach outward and make a difference and so our teams are also in conversation with relief organizations about ways that we can actively serve others in need during this time.
Should the recommendations of the L.A. County Health Department or the CDC change and cancellations of ministry programs become necessary, we keep you updated via email and social media. If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to Blair Farley for more information about our response.
