We are so excited for the official launch of our new Torrance Campus this Sunday, February 25! Why are we doing this? Short answer: we want to reach more people for Jesus! Many people in our congregation live in the Torrance area and the research tells us the average non-church attender will only drive about 15-20 minutes to visit a church for the first time, so Torrance High is a perfect place for Journey of Faith to become one church in more than one location! We also have seen so much growth at our Manhattan Beach campus that we realize we have to come up with creative ideas for how to continue to be a light in the South Bay!
A big thank you to our team of over 150 volunteers who have been practicing our “Sunday Experience” at Torrance High School: our set up/tear down teams, truck drivers, hospitality teams, children’s workers, middle school and high school teams, worship and tech, as well as all those attending who are providing connection points for new visitors. And we need more of you. We are praying for and expecting large numbers of people to come to Torrance. We have learned that non-Christians are more likely to attend a new church in their area than one that has been there for years. With a population of over 150,000 people, we want to offer the city of Torrance a church and community they have not yet experienced. We are also excited to partner with other churches in the area because we know that when a new church comes into the area, the spiritual temperature of the area rises, which means all churches benefit.
Please be praying for our volunteer teams and staff, but most of all for our non-Christian friends, families, coworkers and neighbors in the Torrance area. Pray they would see our advertising or talk to someone attending the Torrance Campus and that God would move in their hearts. Pray they say yes to experiencing Journey of Faith so that we can introduce them to Jesus!
