In many ways, our church is gearing up for more of a launch as opposed to just a regathering. In the past year, our volunteer teams have not been up and running and there are a lot of transitions that have taken place (people moving away, changing teams, etc.). We are using this phased approach to regathering to allow all of our teams to get back together, get fresh training on the regathering protocols required, and ramp back up to services that look like what was happening before COVID.
We are also a church that believes video teaching is a primary experience. Our Torrance campus when functioning is always video teaching, and as we look to open additional campuses they will also have video teaching. While we know that live teaching has been the norm at Manhattan Beach, for a few weeks as we execute our phased opening, everyone will get to experience the same service, some will be at home still and some will be gathered together at Manhattan Beach. We believe that it will be just as valuable and a great experience!
We know everyone is excited to be back together and to return to “normal.” We are working hard as a team to relaunch and follow all of the protocols, provide opportunities for people to gather safely, and rebuild the volunteer teams needed to make our services happen each week.
